Before the Christmas break…

This year Covid finally loosened its grip. The ability to get together, travel, and participate in international events returned with multiple commitments, and the year has gone by at an extraordinary speed. Yet, the momentum was threatened at different points in time by the unstable international geopolitical and economic context, the war in Ukraine, the energy crisis, and the rising inflation, as well as by the increasingly evident risks associated with climate change. However, thanks to our team’s determination, we were able to maintain the standards and objectives set regardless of external factors.

In chronological order, the last, but certainly one of the most gratifying milestones was achieving first place for the agriculture sector in the “Welfare Index PMI”, made possible by the attention Ricasoli dedicates to the satisfaction of its employees.

The year began with the launch of the new Casalferro, which remains a pure Merlot, but that, by embracing the philosophy of a constant quest for quality, today is the result of the maximum selection of grapes from three particularly suitable vineyards with longer aging in the cellar. A prized selection by the market and wine lovers around the world.

The excellence of our Chianti Classicos, namely the four Gran Selezione 2019, was confirmed through the extraordinary acknowledgments by Italian and international wine critics, with Ricasoli being included in the Wine Spectator’s “Critics’ Choice Award” for the global selection of the best wines, as well as in the Top 100 wines by James Suckling with the magnificent 99 points of CeniPrimo 2019.

Reassured by these successes but always ready for the next challenges, we look to 2023 aware of the extraordinary responsibility to continue growing Brolio and its wines, and bring them to the world. To all those who appreciate them and who read us, our best wishes for the upcoming holidays and for a bright 2023!
